Potent inhibitor of diacylglycerol acetyltransferase (DGAT), which catalyzes the final step in mammalian triacylglycerol synthesis. Inhibits DNA polymerase and induces cell differentiation. Has antiproliferative and cytotoxic effects in human cancer cell lines. Inhibits human P450 enzymes. Induces quinone reductase. Inhibits the expression of HIF-1α and VEGF under hypoxic conditions. Induces apoptosis in mature adipocytes. |
