BioVision’s Ascorbic Acid Assay Kit provides a rapid, simple, and sensitive means for detecting ascorbic acid in various biological samples (e.g., serum, plasma, urine, and other body fluids, tissue and cell extracts, growth medium, and food products, etc.). In this assay, ascorbate oxidase specifically oxidizes ascorbic acid to produce a product that interacts with the ascorbic acid probe to generate color and fluorescence. Ascorbic acid can then be easily determined by either colorimetric (spectrophotometry at λ = 570nm) or fluorometric (Ex/Em = 535/587nm) methods. The assay can detect 0.4-400μM ascorbic acid in various samples. |
